Create a simple keyframe animation of your name in Adobe Animate.
Start Adobe Animate
Select Create New
Create a New Animate Document
Select HD 1,280 x 720 from the Presets
Change the Frame Rate to 24
Make sure the Platform Type is Flash ActionScript 3.0
Click on your stage and color it black in the Document Settings Panel
Change your workspace. Go Window > Workspace > Classic or Animation. You can also click on the workspace icon in the upper right corner.
Below is what your finished timeline should look like (though it might be longer based on the length of your name/word)
In your timeline, we need to turn off Auto KeyFrame as it might cause issues.
RIGHT-CLICK on the Insert Keyframe Icon.
Click on Auto KeyFrame to remove the checkmark.
Auto On
Auto Off
Rename your layer in the timeline to Name. (double-click)
Insert a Keyframe [F6] at frame 5
With the text tool, type out your name or a word, change the font, size, and color (you can type in any value for size you want, start with 200)
Change to the Selection Tool and position your word in the center of the document.
Go back to the Text tool and delete all the letters of your word except the first letter.
Click on frame 10 and insert a Keygrame [F6].
Write the next letter of your word, select it and then change the color.
Keep Inserting Keyframes [F6] at 5 frame intervals writing the next letter of your name in different colors.
5 Frames after your last letter, insert another keyframe [F6].
Import an image into the Animate Project Library - File > Import > Import to Library and select your file.
Click on the library icon (stack of books), library panel or go Window > Library (CTRL+L) and drag your image from the library onto the stage.
Position and resize your image with the Free Transform Tool (second tool down).
You'll need to extend your image a few frames. (in my case, frame 64) Click an empty frame and press [F5].
Create a new layer and call it background. Make sure it is below the Name layer. (click and drag down)
5 Frames after your inserted image, insert a Blank Keyframe [F7] on the background layer.
Select the Rectangle Shape Tool and select a Color. Make sure that there is no color for the stroke (white box with red slash through it.
Draw a rectangle that fills the stage.
Create more Keyframes 2-5 frames apart and keep changing the background color. (Insert the keyframe, click the rectangle then select a new color in the properties panel then repeat.)
Insert a keyframe and then delete the rectangle.
Go back to your name layer and insert keyframes every 5 frames and start removing (deleting) your image and letters until you've erased your entire name.
At any point, you can insert extended frames [F5] or remove frames [SHIFT+F5] to lengthen or shorten sections.
Press Enter to play your animation in real-time.
Press CTRL + Enter to preview your animation full screen.
