Internal migrants in India are approximated at 400 million in the 2011 census. About 30% of these migrants are youth aged 15-29 years. These youth move away from home for various reasons such as education as well as jobs.
Food is one of the major concerns for people living away from their homeland and is a defining factor in building a connect to a city. Thus, helping the floating population develop a connect to a city through food by connecting them to the local and migrant population settled here would be a viable choice.
