Week ending: Friday 9th May 2024
Dear Families,
This week we have been learning about road safety and the rules for crossing the road. We learnt how you should stop, look, listen and think when crossing roads. We made road safety posters, made road signs, collage traffic lights and used playdough to build our own roads and community. We have enjoyed the sunshine and have also had lots of outdoor waterplay! Please remember to label any jumpers to avoid losses. As the weather gets warmer, we ask for children to wear t-shirts and hats to protect them from the sun. A polite reminder that we cannot put sun cream on your child so please make sure it's applied before school for any particularly sunny days.Â
We have been working really hard on our handwriting and independent writing so please praise and encourage any writing at home- encourage them to use their sounds! In maths this week, we have practised counting in groups of ten and recognising counting patterns on number lines and 100 squares. Please let us know if you need a new book bag/reading journal as these need to get changed every Monday to support reading at home. Â
Whether you are spring cleaning or trying to get rid of any unused toys, we are kindly looking for any unwanted toys & costume donations. Please let one of the team know if you have any donations!
Wishing you a very sunny weekend!
Best wishes from the Reception Team

Our Phonics Learning this week
Practise the sounds we have learnt this week with your child by clicking on the pictures below. The more opportunities they have to see, hear and say the sounds, the more likely they are to stick. The videos will teach you too! Then practise reading the green words. Can you write any?
