Week ending Friday 1st December, 2023
Dear Families,
The cold weather has not stopped our learning this week in Reception! We continued to learn about toys and answered our curious question , which was 'What do you know about the first soft toy?' We learned that Margarete Steiff created the first stuffed toy over 100 years ago and that the toy was actually an elephant! The children then had the opportunity to make their own monster soft toy using felt, stuffing and some decorations. In maths the children confidently explored the number 9 using a range of strategies . We are doing so well with our number bonds! The children also continued to learn and practice their sounds in phonics, they are doing so well!
We look forward to our first Parents Consultations meetings next Thursday 7th December. Please book an appointment time at the office. We can't wait to share the children's progress with you all! The weather is getting very cold so please ensure hats, gloves and scarves are brought to school!
Have a lovely weekend.
Remember to return your book bags on Monday!Â
Best wishes from the Reception Team
