Week ending Friday 13th October, 2023

Dear Families,

What an amazing week your children have had! They are learning so much, so quickly and are an absolute joy to teach. This week we have experienced colour and emotions though the eyes of famous artists, such as Alma Thomas, Kandinsky and Van Gogh. The children experienced being an artist by painting, drawing in response to music and creating collages. We then talked about how our art work made us feel and the colours that represent different feelings. We have had a lot of pride and happiness throughout the week! Many thanks to all the families who joined us for our Come Learn With Me- We were so impressed with the artwork! We look forward to the next session after half term.  In maths, we have been exploring the number 6. We practised counting, ordering and subitising  numbers within 6.

Thank you for all the hard work you are doing with your children at home helping with their phonics. We encourage the children to practise their sounds and letter formation as much as possible. Don't forget to read stories with the children too! After half term, we will be sending home weekly phonics books and story time books.  A reminder that next week is our last week before we break up for half term.

As the weather is getting wetter and colder, please make sure the children have a coat/rain jacket in school and wellies (if possible) to keep their feet dry!

Have a restful weekend!

Best wishes from the Reception Team
