Week ending Friday 28th September, 2023

Dear Families,

We have had another brilliant week in Reception. We are now settled into routines and are so brave in the morning! The children are doing so well learning new sounds in Phonics. Please ensure that you practise the sounds and writing with your child to support them! We will keep on sending home the phonics worksheets daily.  Your child will get a token in the class pot for every sheet they complete! This week, we have been learning how to be a good friend and how to be kind. We are practising sharing, taking turns and making new friends! We have learnt that we must have kind hands around the playground.  We have also been exploring numbers 1-4. We practised counting, recognising and representing numbers to 4. We have learnt how to write the numbers too. Please encourage the children to practise counting and recognising numbers at home!

Please ensure that you label your child's jumper and clothing to avoid any losses. If your child has accidentally brought home an item of clothing that doesn't belong to them, please return it to school as soon as possible.  We know we must put our jumpers on our peg during the day! We will continue to search for any losses and return them to you.

A massive thank you to all those who joined us for Family Friday. It was lovely to see the children end their week with a lovely story from you! We look forward to the next session!

Have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes from the Reception Team
