Week ending Friday 6th October, 2023

Dear Families,

This week we have started our new curriculum topic 'Colour.' We have been reading an eye-catching pop-up book called "The Colour Monster" by Anna Llenas which has led to open discussion in our classrooms about how we are feeling and identifying different emotions. The curious question of the week is "What are feelings?" and to help us answer this we have been talking about what makes us feel a certain way. The children loved talking to their partners about their feelings! We have designed our own craft Colour Monster and created feeling puppets. We have also explored colour mixing.

We have learnt lots of new sounds so far in phonics and we are now practising making words with the sounds. Please continue to practise my sounds and writing at home! We look forward to our first Come Learn With me next Thursday morning!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Best wishes from the Reception Team
