Week ending: Friday 2nd February 2024

Dear Families,

We have had another great week in Reception. We started our new topic "Homes" and have explored homes from the past. We are very excited about our trip to the Museum of Home on Tuesday 6th. Please ensure you return your permission slips! In maths we have been counting on a numberline and finding one more and one less. Please ensure your child has a spare change of clothes on their peg everyday as we have very limited spare clothes availble in school. A polite reminder that we break up for spring half term on Friday 9th February.

Have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes,

The Reception Team

Can you sing along to our song of the week?

Our Words this week

We have learnt the words below this week. Can you ask your child the suggested questions to encourage them to use the words in a sentence?

Our Maths Learning this week

This week we have been practicing finding one more and one less. We practised using concrete resources and jumping forwards and backwards using a numberline! We are begining to explore addition and subtraction equations.

Our Phonics Learning this week

Practise the sounds we have learnt this week with your child by clicking on the pictures below. The more opportunities they have to see, hear and say the sounds, the more likely they are to stick. The videos will teach you too! Then practise learning to blend with Fred talk.
