Week ending Friday 19th January, 2024

Dear Families,

Thank you to all those parents who were able to join us for our Come Learn with Me. We had so much fun!

This week our focus has been on answering our curious question 'What is water pollution?'. The children were able to sort clear the pollution from our small world beach, make lists of the pollution they have found. We also learned how water pollution effects animals and what we can do to help. In our writing lesson, we made posters to put around the school to tell everyone to stop polluting the oceans. The children showed great passion and enthusiasm to care for our environment. If you have any bottle tops at home, please bring them in as we will be using them to create a piece of art out of recycled materials next week.

In maths, we have been exploring addition within 10. The children have become amazing mathematicians using many different strategies to solve addition equations.

Next Friday (26th January) we have our first Family Friday of the term! Please feel free to join us and read a story with your child from 3.00 - 3.20pm.

Have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes,

The Reception Team

Recycle a plastic water bottle and make a fish! Decorate your fish with paint and goggly eyes. Can you make a pattern on your fish?
