Week ending: Friday 22nd September, 2023
Dear Families,
Hello! Welcome to the Reception weekly portal. The children have made an incredible start to Reception! This week we have continued to settle into our new class and new routines - we have been brilliant! We have also started learning our new sounds in phonics - thank you for practising our letters with us at home! We will keep on sending home the phonics worksheets daily. We have loved exploring our first topic "All About Me". We have been talking about our families, making new friends and comparing how we changed since we were babies. The children loved sharing their adorable baby pictures and guessing who it was. They especially loved seeing their teacher's baby photo too! In maths we have been exploring pattern, shape and numbers to 3. We are developing the children's fine motor skills to support their writing journey so please practise pencil grip and mark making at home!
Please ensure the children are wearing the correct school uniform every day and have a spare change of clothes ready on their peg or in their bag. As the weather is getting wetter, please also make sure the children have a coat and jumper with them (with their name in)!
Thank you to parents and carers for being so supportive and helping to make the transition to big school such a successful one! If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know either at the end of the day or by asking the office to arrange a time that suits you.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes from the Reception Team.
