Week ending: Friday 8th March 2024

Dear Families,

Our final week of our learning theme "Contrasting Countries". This week we made posters to inform people how to save water. We learnt why water is important and ways we can save water. Thank you for all your generous donations for our lemonade sale!  We have painted our clay pots and created our own safari animal number lines! We also explored clean and dirty water. In maths, we learnt about doubling and continued to explore 3D shapes in the environment.  Please make sure you are reading with your child regularly and encouraging your child to practise reading their RWI books to you. Remember to return them on Monday every week as we cannot change them every day!

Next week we will be celebrating Red Nose Day on Friday!

Have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes,

The Reception Team

Can you sing along to our song of the week?

Our Words this week

We have learnt the words below this week. Can you ask your child the suggested questions to encourage them to use the words in a sentence?

Our Maths Learning this week

This week we have been exploring doubling. We have learnt that doubling means adding two equal groups together. We practised finding equations. E.g 2+2=4. "Double 2 is 4".

Our Phonics Learning this week

Practise the sounds we have learnt this week with your child by clicking on the pictures below. The more opportunities they have to see, hear and say the sounds, the more likely they are to stick. The videos will teach you too! Then practise learning to blend with Fred talk.
