Daniel Brandon,

Lexicographer

Merriam-Webster, Inc.

Daniel,

Good 2021 to you; I trust this email finds you well.

(1) This is Anoop Bungay; you may remember me from the thread below.

(2) Might I suggest M-W include the following term ----  which, through correct and proper commercialized use-in-commerce, is defined by yours truly --- - into your M-W "word usage tracking system", which I presume exists because M-W describes that "usage" is the basis for entry of a definition of a term into your dictionary (see here: https://www.merriam-webster.com/help/faq-words-into-dictionary --- the link you sent to me back in August 2019) and in order to measure you usage, M-W must necessarily have a "system" to track usage.

(2.1) the term is: metaverse

(3) M-W and your team of lexicographers should know that when used-in-commerce, the term metaverse holds a very specific place within the broader concept system within which it exists.

(4) To be brief, here is a summary:

(5) Daniel, a few final points to make to you for today:

(5.1) Since your last communique with me in 2019, much has transpired. The most important thing to share with you today is that from the United Nations to the World Intellectual Property Office members world-wide network; it is a prima facie accepted fact that yours truly, Anoop Bungay has developed a large body of generic and non-generic (distinctive; source identifying) terms --- and definitions thereof (nature, quality, character, feature, function, purpose, use, extent) --- for use-in-commerce in matters related to theory and praxis of conformity science and its subordinate concept systems.

(5.2) In addition to the term metaverse, M-W might also consider tracking the following additional terms, which are within the same concept system; listed in their natural hierarchy from  smallest subordinate concept to largest concept.

(6) Your brief review of www.metaversepedia.info should provide you with a fully narrative.

Trusting you may appreciate this suggestion.

Sincerely yours,

/s/

Anoop Bungay

Wonderful Daniel,

Hope you are well.

Seasons greetings and Happy New Year to you and yours!

Sincerely,

/s/

Anoop Bungay

PS: In your role as a lexicographer, you will appreciate that for consumer safety purposes and for establishing a baseline standard for understanding by elected officials, policy makers, scientists (including all lexicographers on Earth), researchers, legal professionals, members of the court (judiciary), risk management professionals, technical experts, government, industry and billions of consumers and organizations [NOTE: according to ISO the term "organization" necessarily includes an 'individual' of which there are 'billions'] world-wide, the term "'metaverse' is merely the 'beginning entry' of a larger concept system" for dictionaries like M-W (and your peers; AHD, Cambridge, Collins, Oxford, Macmillan, Longman). How and why? The de facto meaning (intensional definition; including designations, namely, terms, appellations and symbols) of the term "metaverse"  fits within a larger, greater (pleo-) concept system that was abstracted formalized for use-in-commerce purposes by yours truly in accordance with both NIST and ISO de jure terminological consensus standards (Authority By Consensus™ educational services). This larger concept system is formalized as the "pleoverse concept system" and may be found at www.metaversepedia.info

To be clear; the "commercialized metaverse" which is the penultimate highest level within the pleoverse concept system, commenced at least as early as April 9, 2005 and this origination record is traceable by auditors and researchers through open and public records. The distinction that distinguishes theoretical metaverse versus metaverse praxis is that at least as early as May 9, 2005, the commercialize metaverse infrastructure became further developed for consumer, government and industry safety through integration with the USA federal National Standard, namely, ISO 9001:2008 (see NIST for details or ANSI); a consensus standard which resulted in the creation of control structures and quality structures within the commercialized metaverse framework which assures participating users that their are experience higher levels of safety and quality within their interactions. In 2022, the commercialized metaverse and its related concept systems celebrate over 14 years of existence, as such.

What I will do is publish a textbook for the benefit of you and your fellow colleagues (lexicographers) world-wide so that every one can better understand what is going on, Daniel. Do not be surprised if our years of correspondence, including this email finds its way as an Appendix in the textbook.

Hope to keep in touch with you for years to come.

Good day.

The term "metaverse" has already been proposed for entry into our online Merriam-Webster.com dictionary, and is currently under review.  We do not have a definite schedule for its release, but it seems likely that it will appear on our site sometime in the relatively near future.

Sincerely,
