Adaptation technique: Modification - Pupils carry out the activity in mixed-ability groups.

Implementation strategies: 

• Teacher hands out the finger puppet templates (one representing a child, one representing an adult, and one representing an elderly person).

• Teacher tells pupils to carefully cut the templates out and tape or glue them to make finger puppets.

• Teacher models how to use the finger puppets by telling a simple story with each stage.

• Teacher asks pupils to create a simple story using the three puppets. Encourage them to think of activities they did as a child, things they do now, and what they think they will do when they grow older.

• Teacher may provide sentence starters to help with storytelling, such as “When I was young, I…” or “Now, I...”

• Teacher lets pupils practise their stories in small groups, using their puppets to act out the life stages.

• Teacher calls pupils to present their stories to the class, using their puppets.

Adaptation technique: Modification -Teachers can modify the activities based on the allocated time and pupils’ levels.

Implementation strategies: 

• Teacher distributes a paper to each pupil and explains the activity.

• Teacher tells pupils to create a poster of what they like about themselves. They can draw themselves and list what they like about themselves.

• Teacher collects the posters and exchanges them randomly to other pupils.

• Teacher tells pupils to guess who’s poster they got and take turns to justify their answers.
