1. Let's Tidy Up

Skill(s): Listening

Suggested activity: Pre-lesson

Adaptation technique: Simplification - Pupils listen to the song while watching the video.

Implementation strategies:

Teacher plays the song.
Teacher asks pupils to listen to the song attentively.
After the song ends, teacher asks pupils to identify the chores mentioned in the song.
Pupils guess and list the chores aloud.
Teacher plays the song again and asks pupils to sing along and perform the actions for each chore.

Suggested activity: Lesson Development (Practice)

Adaptation technique: Modification - Teacher modifies the task by incorporating a game.

Implementation strategies:

Teacher prints and cuts out the flashcards.
Teacher explains the activity and divides the class into two teams.
One pupil from each team will stand in front of the classroom and draw a flashcard with a housework picture.
Pupil needs to act out the chores without speaking, while their team tries to guess the chores.
Teams earn points for each correct guess.
Rotate so that every pupil has a turn to act and guess.
Team with the most points wins.

Suggested activity: Post Lesson

Adaptation technique: Modification - Teacher modifies the task by incorporating a game.

Implementation strategies:

Teacher shares the game with the pupils.
In the game, pupils need to read and follow the instructions provided.
After playing the game, pupils are required to write down and list the chores they have done to help clean the classroom.
Pupils will present their work in the next class.

Suggested activity: Lesson Development (Present & Practice)

Adaptation technique: Addition - Use a mini whiteboard to increase pupils' participation and engagement.

Implementation strategies:

Teacher prints and cuts out the flashcards.
Teacher distributes a mini whiteboard to each group and explains the activity.
Pupils need to write the subject based on the picture shown by the teacher on the whiteboard.
Teacher shows the first picture and gives the pupils 15 seconds to write their answers.
Each group holds up their whiteboard to show their answer, and the teacher discusses the answers with the class.
Teacher asks the pupils to spell each subject.
Teacher continues the activity until all the flashcards have been used.
