Pupils have to listen to teacher's instructions as well to get better understanding of how to play the game.
Pupils ask the teacher if they encounter words or phrases that they do not understand.

Before starting the lesson, teacher has pupils play the game.
Pupils choose their character and start the game.
Pupils have to remember what food did they collect during playing the game and state the food names in the classroom.
In accordance to pupils' sharing, teacher explains about food that pupils can bring to school for lunchtime.

Teacher pre-cut the fruits to hinder pupils from using knives.
Teacher modifies the recipe from salad to fruit yoghurt.
Implementation strategies:
Teacher has pupils bring the required ingredients from home.
Teacher displays the recipe and has pupils read the instructions together.
Then, teacher explains the recipe using simpler words and asks pupils to retell the recipe in their own words. Teacher translates words into English whenever pupils use L1 words.
After that, pupils proceed to make the fruit yoghurt with teacher's guidance.

Teacher has pupils read the text about Greenfields Primary School Lunch menu.
Before reading the text, pupils use their prior knowledge to answer preparation questions about name of foods for lunchtime.
After reading the text, pupils answer the questions based on the text and get help from teacher for words they do not understand.
