Pedro Páramo is an emblematic novel in Mexican literature, and you will work with it in both classes. It is available online for free, in case you want to save a couple of bucks.

In SPAN 245 you might have to read a few of short stories by Juan Rulfo from the book Llano en llamas. You can also find these online, they are available in many websites for free and even in PDF format.

If you have a hard time reading fast, you can also find audio versions of the short stories and even the novel on YouTube. You can even find audios of Juan Rulfo reading his own work!
