CBEST

The CBEST is one of the first steps to becoming a teacher. Assembly Bill 130 passed and waived the CBEST test instead of requiring Basic Skills Requirements (BSR).

In order to have the CBEST waived, you will need to take a course to satisfy the requirements in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics and pass those courses with a B or higher. For a list of approved courses, click here. Once the courses are completed, you will need to fill out this form (BSR audit request form) and submit it with a copy of your unofficial transcripts. This request will need to be approved before your CBEST is officially waived.
