IDEA BRAINSTORMING can help you get all of your thoughts and ideas down on paper before you begin constructing your essay. Read the prompt your professor has given you and then on a sheet of paper, write everything you know about that topic. Don't think too much about the order of things, just get those ideas out. Writing these things down can help you to recall information from the textbook or lecture that you may have otherwise forgotten. Once you have completed the quick brainstorm, start to organize those main points. Group together the ones that are similar and decide on the order you will use them in. You now have a great starting point for your response.

Use a graphic organizer like these to help you get started. (You can print these or use one as inspiration to create your own!) Graphic organizers are great for breaking concepts down into understandable parts, serving as a visual aid to organize ideas, and enables brainstorming, contrasting, analysis, and organization.

We have created these graphic organizers to help you get started:      **UNDER CONSTRUCTION**
