Bambu Studio is the slicer software used at Loveland CreatorSpace for preparing 3D models for printing on our Bambu Lab printers. It handles model import, orientation, supports, slicing, material selection, and AMS configuration. Members use Bambu Studio to turn a digital model into printer‑ready instructions.
Bambu Studio is tightly integrated with the Bambu Lab ecosystem, giving us:
Reliable AMS material handling
Accurate time and material estimates
Strong default profiles for common filaments
Automatic support generation and repair tools
Direct network printing to our printers
This consistency helps keep prints predictable and reduces troubleshooting.
Open Bambu Studio and drag your .stl, .3mf, or .obj file into the workspace. Multiple models can be imported at once.
Use the Move, Rotate, and Scale tools to place your model on the build plate. Good orientation reduces supports, improves strength, and shortens print time.
Select the correct printer from the dropdown (e.g., P1S, A1, A1 mini, etc.). This ensures the slicer uses the correct build volume and hardware settings.
Choose the material type and color you plan to use. If printing through the AMS, make sure the slot number matches the spool you loaded.
Use Auto Support for most prints. Advanced users may adjust support density, angles, or paint-on supports.
Click Slice to generate the toolpath. Review the preview to confirm:
Layer lines look correct
Supports are placed where expected
No gaps, missing walls, or odd toolpaths
Use Send to transmit the sliced file directly to the printer. Verify the printer is ready, has the correct filament, and is not currently in use.
Model Repair Tool
Fixes non‑manifold edges, holes, and other geometry issues.
Paint-on Supports
Allows precise control over where supports are placed.
Orca-Style Adaptive Layer Height
Improves surface quality by varying layer thickness automatically.
Preview Mode
Lets you inspect the toolpath layer-by-layer before printing.
Always confirm the AMS slot matches the filament you selected in Bambu Studio.
If changing colors, follow the Standard Refill Procedure and spool-handling guidelines.
Check the filament cabinet for an existing spool of the color you need before opening a new refill.
If something in Bambu Studio doesn’t look right — unusual slicing, missing layers, AMS mismatch, or repair failures — ask a lead for assistance.
