Loveland CreatorSpace uses an Oneida Air Systems V‑System central dust collector with ducting to major wood‑shop machines. The system includes:
Oneida V‑System cyclone & drum
(primary dust collector)
Jet AFS‑1000B Air Filtration Unit
(ceiling‑mounted fine‑dust filter)
Honeywell Home rectangular pre‑filter
(mounted on Dust Collection Room door)
Magnehelic pressure gauge
(0–15 in. H₂O)
Dust Control System Light Indicator
(above the Jet AFS switch)

The Dust Collection Room door has a sign:
“Please Ask for Key.”
The Director has access to all keys.
The key is often left in the door, but members should not assume it will be there.
If the door is locked, ask the Director or a facilitator.
Located above the Jet AFS‑1000B switch.
Indicates the dust‑collection system is disabled at the Filter Room.
Tools may clog due to lack of suction.
Usually disabled by facilitators or trained members.
Means the system is powered.
Does NOT mean the filter is clean or suction is adequate.
Not tied to filter status.
Mounted near the Dust Collection Room.
Measures system suction in inches of water.
Normal operating range: 8–12 in. H₂O depending on tool load.
Your observation: 9 in. H₂O with system running — healthy suction.
Drum ring not sealed
Filter clogged
Sensor left attached
Major duct leak
System disabled
Blockage in ducting
Closed blast gates
Filter severely clogged
A sign on the cyclone reads:
“Please remove the sensor before pulling out the drum to empty it. Refer to instructions hanging beside door.”
Turn off the dust‑collection system.
Remove the sensor
from the drum lid (usually a magnetic or clip‑on sensor).
Release the drum ring clamp.
Pull the drum straight out.
Empty sawdust into approved disposal bins.
Inspect drum liner (if used).
Reinsert drum and ensure the ring is fully seated and clamped.
Reattach the sensor.
Turn system back on and verify suction (Magnehelic gauge).
The Dust Collection Log states:
“Make sure the ring around the bin is secure otherwise the vacuum cannot maintain suction.”
A loose ring is one of the most common causes of poor suction.
A sign on the door states:
“Dumping the Sawdust? — Please clean the filter and fill out the log… should be done at least every other time the sawdust is dumped.”

Empty the drum

Does not replace the main dust collector
Members must:
Check the system status light before using tools
Verify suction using the Magnehelic gauge
Empty the drum when full
Remove the sensor before pulling the drum

Fill out the Dust Collection Log
Report missing instructions or signage
Ask for help if unsure — especially with filter cleaning
