Central Pneumatic 93608 floor cabinet. Hopper is loaded with #80 garnet for rust, paint, scale, and coating prep. Load parts through the door on the right side.
Complete Metal Shop Orientation before using this machine.
1. Open the blue-handle ball valve on the wall behind the cabinet (shop air).
2. Put the part in through the right-side door. Close and latch the door.
3. Flip the red rocker switch on the light hood (top left). This turns on the cabinet light. Turn on the dust collector on the left side of the cabinet (red button on the white cyclone) and confirm it is pulling air.
4. Put your hands in the gloves. Hold the nozzle 2–4 inches from the part, pull the trigger, and blast. Keep the gun moving. Do not linger on thin metal. Do not aim at the window or the gloves.
5. Release the trigger. Take both hands out of the gloves and let dust settle before you open the door. Remove the part.
6. Sweep media off the floor. Close the wall ball valve. Turn off the cabinet switch and the dust collector. Leave the station ready for the next member.
• Part must be dry and free of oil or grease. Moisture clumps the media.
• Mask anything you do not want blasted.
• Part must sit stable on the grate.
• Door must be fully closed and latched.
• Stay at or under 125 PSI. Typical working range is about 70–115 PSI.
• Safety glasses on, even with the cabinet closed.
• Hearing protection recommended.
• Dust mask or respirator when pouring media.
• No loose sleeves or jewelry.
• Do not blast flammable materials, magnesium, or zinc-coated parts.
• Do not blast wood, rubber, electronics, or assemblies with bearings or seals.
• Never put sand or silica abrasive in this machine.
In the hopper now: #80 garnet. Spare garnet pails sit on the floor to the right of the cabinet.
Also stored there, not in the hopper: walnut shell (coarse, 12 grit) and a jug of glass beads. Do not dump those into the cabinet unless a shop lead has emptied the garnet first. Mixing media ruins the finish and the separator.
Steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and cast iron. Stainless: light pass only. Garnet cuts fast — skip thin or delicate parts.
• Do not mix media.
• Do not blast oily parts or parts with loose hardware.
• Report torn gloves, a worn nozzle, or a cloudy/cracked window.
• If the hopper looks low, add garnet from the pails on the right — not walnut shell or glass bead.
• Return lids to the pails. Keep the floor clear of grit.
