Both units in the space are handheld, gun‑shaped heat guns powered by standard 110VAC.
General Member Use
No reservation required
Must follow all fire‑safety and ventilation rules
Do not use near flammable solvents or dust
Inspect the heat gun:
Ensure the nozzle is clean and unobstructed
Check the cord for damage
Verify the switch moves freely
Clear the surrounding area:
Remove paper, sawdust, solvents, and plastics that could ignite
Set up ventilation if heating adhesives or paint
Choose the correct temperature setting:
Low
for electronics, heat‑shrink, and delicate plastics
High
for paint removal, bending thicker plastics, or heavy adhesive softening
Temperature & Airflow
Milwaukee and Wagner models typically offer:
Low heat
(~250–500°F)
High heat
(~700–1100°F)
Some units may have variable airflow or stepped fan speeds
Technique
Keep the nozzle 2–6 inches from the workpiece
Move continuously — do not hold the gun in one spot
For heat‑shrink tubing:
Rotate the wire or move the gun around it for even heating
For adhesive softening:
Warm gradually until the adhesive becomes pliable
For paint stripping:
Heat until the paint bubbles, then scrape gently
After Use
Turn off the gun and allow it to cool on a heat‑safe surface
Do not set it down on plastic, cloth, or paper while hot
Coil the cord neatly once fully cooled

Anything flammable
Foam insulation
Unknown chemicals or coatings

Never point the heat gun at yourself or others
Do not block the air intake
Do not use extension cords that are damaged or undersized
Keep the nozzle away from cords, gloves, and clothing
Report:
Burning smell
Flickering power
Overheating handle
No airflow
Gun shuts off / overheats
Allow to cool; check airflow intake for blockage
Weak airflow
Intake may be clogged with dust
Plastic scorching
Increase distance or lower temperature
Heat‑shrink uneven
Move gun continuously or rotate the workpiece
