The Instructional Plan section provides details about the Educational Needs chosen in the General Student Information section under the Special Factors tab.

Instructional Plan
The tabs for this section correlate to the Educational Needs chosen in the Special Factors tab of General Student Information. Options for adding Instructional Plans will only exist according to what was chosen in that previous section.
Click Check Out -- if you are not already checked out -- and a "+" button will appear. Click the "+" button to add a plan.
The Educational Need Area popup will appear with a dropdown showing the Educational Needs clicked in the previous section. Choose one at a time, and click the Save button to populate the tabbed subsection into the Instructional Plan section.
The tab will automatically be titled according to the chosen Educational Need.
Choose an Educational Need Area from the dropdown.
The Content Area can be typed manually.
The next three checkboxes are additional areas where this Instructional Plan might apply.
Choose a related course from the dropdown. There are too many options to merit a list in this help guide. However, typing the first letter of the course in the field will automatically move the option to that letter of the alphabet, and then opening the dropdown will present courses that start with that letter.
The next two textboxes are for narratives about achievements and goals.
Text boxes throughout eSER have limitations on word count. Depending on the section or text box, the limit is between 2,000 and 8,000 words. If you experience problems, please contact system support.
The narratives can be edited by clicking the pencil icon at the right of each text box. Enter the narrative in the resulting popup, then click Save to commit and return to the subsection.
The small box at the bottom right of each text box contains three tiny diagonal lines. Clicking and holding on these lines allows the box to be dragged to a larger size. This modification may make it easier when typing longer narratives.
Enter narrative in each text box as desired.

The Additional Methods of Measurement field can be typed in manually.
Click Check In when finished, or go to the next tab.
Enter a Date Goal Achieved in mm/dd/yyyy format, or use the calendar icon.
There is no need to amend an IEP at a later time to add the Date Goal Achieved. Instead, add the date achieved under Progress Report Details.
In the area that reads:
REQUIRED FOR STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN ALTERNATE ASSESSMENT (LEAP Connect) AND April Dunn Act APPLIED GOALS MEASURABLE SHORT-TERM OBJECTIVES or BENCHMARKS
LEAP Connect or April Dunn narratives can be added by clicking the "+" button. An Add/Edit Goals popup will appear, with a date field and text box.
Similarly, there is no need to amend an IEP at a later time to add this data. Instead, add it under Progress Report Details.
Click Save Changes to commit the data and exit this popup, or Close to exit without saving.
The table with Goal Description will populate with the new data.
Click the boxes as needed for Personnel Responsible, and if needed click Providers and Other to add data manually to the associated text fields.
Click Save to commit everything in this section. Clicking Delete will erase the entire tabbed section; however, as long as the box is checked in Educational Needs, this section can be re-added as a new blank form.
Click Check In if finished, or remain checked out and go to the next IEP Section in the dropdown.
The Goal Description table provides a View/Edit pencil icon which allows for edits to the data.
Clicking the icon will produce the Add/Edit Goals popup, where a date and narrative can be entered.
As mentioned in the walkthrough, it is not necessary to amend an IEP at a later time to add this data. Instead, add it under Progress Report Details.
Click the Close button to commit the data and return to the Instructional Plan, or click the Esc key on the keyboard to exit this popup with no changes.
