The Student Service Summary shows a table with the student's previous and current services. The columns show:

Student Service Summary
To add a Service, click the green "+" button at the top of the page.
Service View/Edit
The resulting Service View/Edit page will offer three dropdowns and two date fields.
A Service must be selected:

A Start Date for the service must be entered.
Starting services for a new student will automatically generate SPED activity.
If SPED activity is closed, starting a service will reopen a new SPED activity.
The End Date should be left without a date until the Service is closed. When the service is closed, entering an end date and saving the data will automatically close the service, and update the Student Service Summary table.
Services are tied to Jurisdiction -- jurisdiction cannot be closed, or claimed by someone else, until services are first closed.
Additionally, when the Service is closed, a Termination Reason must be chosen from the dropdown:
Health Prevents Continuation
Moved Out of State
Moved/Transferred Within State/LEA
Progress Indicates Serv no Longer Needed
Revocation of Consent
Service Provider Change
Withdrawal of Parental Approval
Click Save to commit the data in either case.
Provider
When adding a service and after clicking Save, the Provider table will then appear below the Service data. Clicking the green "+" button will produce a Staff Selection popup with these fields:
Staff ID
Last Name
First Name
Either the Staff ID, or both the exact first and last name must be entered. Once the data is entered, click Search to locate the provider. If the search is valid, a table will appear in this popup that shows the Staff ID and Staff Member name.
Click the small white box to choose the provider, and then click Select to add this provider to the Service.
Clicking Select will produce a secondary popup with a dropdown to select a Service Location. Chose from the following:
Special Class
Regular Class
Community
Click Save to commit the data.
Alternately, click Close to back out without adding this to the service, or to start over with a new search. and return to the summary table.
Click Return to Summary to go back to the Student Service Summary page.
In the summary table, clicking View/Edit icon for an existing Service will go to the Service View/Edit page for that service. This will show the same data as that described above, along with with the additional table about the Provider which shows:
Provider (first and last name)
Service Location
Delete
Also on Student Service Summary page, clicking the gray Close All Services button will efficiently close all open services for the student at once.
To add a Service, click the green "+" icon.
This leads to the Service View/Edit page where specifics can be entered using dropdowns and date fields.
The first three fields must be entered to add a service.
The last two fields are only to be used when closing a service. A service will close automatically if the last two fields contain data and the page is saved.
Once a Service is created, it will appear in the Summary. It can then be edited, and a Provider can be chosen, if one was not chosen already when the service was created.
Clicking the "+" button for Provider produces the Staff Selection popup.
If there are multiple open services, the Close All Services button can be used to close everything at once.
An End Date and Termination Reason must be also chosen when using this feature. Click Save to commit the data.

Missing provider
eSER allows a service to be entered without the provider. However, new staff members cannot be added as providers until the EdLink 360 staff file is submitted at the beginning of the year, typically in mid-August.
