The IEP List page shows a list of all submitted and draft IEPs. It is the first step to accessing existing IEPs or creating a new IEP.
The migration from Legacy SER to the new eSER in 2022 includes the prior seven years of data. If there are IEPs that appear to be missing, please contact the support team.
IEPs can be downloaded as printable PDFs from this table.
This list will only be viewable according to the LEA chosen in the "Selected School or LEA" widget on the left side of the screen in eSER. See the Widgets visual guide for details.
Navigation
IEP > IEP List
IEP List
To create a new IEP, use the dropdown arrow at the top of this section. To view an existing IEP, click the view icon in the desired row.
See the visual guide below for guidance on creating a new IEP.
At the bottom of this table is a "Results per page" dropdown. The system defaults to show ten columns at once. Click the dropdown and choose a larger number to show a larger list of available IEPs.
The "Records # to # of #" and the "Page # of #" designations at the bottom of the table signify the total available IEPs.
The table shows the following columns:
Team Meeting Date
This column is based on the date entered in IEP Section > General Student Information > Basic Information > "Team Meeting Date."
It can be sorted by clicking the tiny arrow next to the word "date" in the column title.
The sort defaults with the most recent IEP at the top of the column, and the farthest date at the end of the column. Clicking the arrow toggles to reverse this order.
IEP Type
This shows the type of IEP referenced in the row.
Current Grade
This column is determined by the grade designated in the Student Profile.
The grade can be changed at any time via the Student Profile; this will update any draft IEP. However, if an IEP is submitted with the wrong grade level, then it can only be fixed by contacting system support.
On July 1 each year, grades K-12 automatically roll up. Any PreK students need to be manually changed.
Status
Any IEP that has been submitted will show "Official" or "Amended-Official." An IEP that is in-progress will show "Draft."
Submitted?
Once the IEP is submitted, the date is logged and automatically generated.
Create Date
This column is based on the Created date/timestamp that is automatically generated when an IEP is created. The stamp is shown at the bottom of each page in the IEP, along with the Modified stamp.
View
Clicking the pencil icon will navigate to the first section of the IEP, General Student Information.
Download
This navigates to the print page for the IEP. See Progress Report Details > (Visual Guide) Printing for more details.
Any checkboxes chosen on the print page must have a corresponding section that exists in the IEP. If a checkbox is clicked but the section does not exist, then the report may hang or not print, and the gears icon will spin endlessly.
See the Icons visual guide for details about the gears icon.
Delete
For a draft IEP: clicking the trash can will produce a confirmation popup. Clicking "OK" in the popup will delete a draft IEP. This cannot be undone.
For a submitted IEP: clicking the trash can will produce the IEP Delete Request popup. Once the state deletes the submitted IEP, this cannot be undone; however, a delete request can be cancelled on the IEP Delete Requests page. Make cancellations as quickly as possible so the IEP is not accidentally deleted.
See the IEP Delete Request visual guide in User Tools for more details.
To ensure users select the correct category from the start, be sure to use the dropdown icon instead of the "+" button. This will display the three categories of IEPs (regular, G/T, services).
From there, users will be prompted to select the type of IEP (initial, review, interim). The type can be changed within the IEP if needed before the IEP is submitted. A category cannot be changed.
Note: The "+" button will only produce the New Regular IEP popup. There will not be an option to select the other categories: G/T or Service Plan. Users will still be prompted to select the type of IEP (initial, review, interim). The type can still be changed within the IEP if needed before the IEP is submitted. Because the category cannot be changed, if the wrong category was selected at the start, the draft should be deleted and the IEP started over.
Once the IEP is generated as a draft, it will automatically navigate to the General Student Information section.
IEPs can only be downloaded and printed as PDFs by navigating to IEP > IEP List.
Go to the IEP list and click download.
Click the All Default Sections checkbox, or optional sections as needed.
Then click the Download IEP button.
The PDF will be downloaded to your default folder. This folder can be changed if desired.
