Student Search
Enter a 10-digit State ID and click the Search button. This should produce a table on the bottom of the page with the student's basic information.
Click the resulting State ID in this table to access the student's IEP and other eSER data.
If there are two or more students shown with one ID, this is a duplicate that needs to be addressed by system support.
In lieu of the State ID, students searched by any of the three name fields will show all students with that name. This may produce a list of students, and the appropriate student can be chosen from the list.
The Suffix and LEA dropdowns are optional fields that can be used to filter the search.
Additionally, the Receiving Service and Show Inactive boxes can be checked to filter the search further.
Clicking the Show Inactive box may be necessary to show all students. Inactive students will not appear in a results table unless this box is checked.
The student may need to be Relinked as explained in Student Profile.
The Show More button will produce an additional set of dropdowns to the right of the page with the following criteria. These are also optional but can be used to filter the search:
Gender
Is Asian
Is Black
Is Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
Is Hispanic or Latino
Is Native American or Alaskan
Is White
Date of Birth
School Code
Prior LEA
Local Student ID
Add Student
If a student is not found but exists in eScholar, the Add Student button can be used to add the student to eSER. This does not transfer information to any outside system such as eScholar; it only adds a student from eScholar to eSER.
The fields are similar to those on the Student Search page. Any of the fields can be used to search for the student.
Clicking the Find Student button will produce a table on the bottom of the page that shows the student's basic information. The student can then be added to eSER by clicking the "+" button in the table, under Add Student.
The basic search functions are accessed from the first page of this section.
If a student cannot be found, try clicking the Show Inactive checkbox and searching again. If this is the only way the student appears, then the student may need to be Relinked as explained in Student Profile.
The results table appears after the Search button is clicked. Clicking the State ID -- in blue numbers -- will navigate to the student's IEP and other data.
Clicking the Add Student button in the Student Search section will produce the Add Student popup.
Enter a State ID or the name and click Find Student.
This will show a table that either contains no data if the student is not found, or it will show the student's data from eScholar which can then be added to eSER via the "+" button.

Wildcard search
Wildcard or partial data searches can be completed by using adding an asterisk to the end of a partial word. For example, to do a partial search for Louisiana, enter L* or Lou* or Louisia*, and this will turn up any words starting with the text that precedes the "*".
