Energy Conservation Poster
Energy conservation is an important initiative that needs to be taken when combating the climate emergency. This is because the generation of electricity through the combustion of fossil fuels produces greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which accelerate global warming.
Therefore, even small steps such as those highlighted in this poster can have great impacts in the long run.

Heron: Flower Bed Planting and Composting Workshop (May 2025) 🌳🌷
On the 7th of May 2025, a group of students, including the eco reps, from Heron came together to expand on the flowers and tree planting initiative at the Outdoor Discovery Centre (ODC).
A total of 8 individual plants were planted during the event, including species such as the Ixora, Japanese Aster and White Dahlia, to name a few.
The flower bed developing initiative led by students, including Sherlin, the sustainability captain of Heron, as well as Yasha and Asyifa, eco committee members of Heron, has proven to be an effective catalyst for attracting biodiversity. For instance, the Japanese Aster on the right/ below, planted by the students, was spotted to have a Hübner's wasp moth feeding on it.
Marine awareness is essential, especially when living in a significant coastal region such as Brunei. Every year, more and more marine and aquatic habitats are disrupted by waste and litter (especially non-biodegradable waste such as plastics) that end up either being consumed by larger aquatic species and hence, eventually leading to the death of the animal, or obstructing the movement of some aquatic animals that get tangled in these nets/ other objects.
Therefore, as highlighted in the poster, it is essential that we contribute as much as possible in our own ways to help improve this situation through the various methods shown.
