Workshop Information:

In this session London based educator Shaun Dellenty (author of the award-winning Bloomsbury book 'Celebrating Difference- A Whole School to Approach to LGBT+ Inclusion') will draw upon sixteen years of advocacy for LGBT+ inclusion in education. 

Shaun will explore the moral rationale for LGBT+ inclusion in primary and secondary schools, share powerful testimony and research from the UK, explore whole school strategy and some tried and tested teaching and learning tips.  

Shaun will explore this content in light of the pushback currently taking place in some regions and the duty of care for all young people.

Session Outcomes

• To be able to nurture and defend LGBT+ inclusive schools. 

• To feel empowered to prevent bullying and discrimination against LGBT+ individuals and those merely perceived to be.
