Workshop Information:

Sharing my expertise and training in concept-based inquiry and active movement-based education to help MYP practitioners transition into the new Enhanced MYP

The session will consist of an introduction to the key features of the Enhanced MYP and then invite participants to try a few sample activities from core subjects (I&S, Sciences) for 11 - 13 year olds that explore concepts in a fun, active way.

Session Outcomes:

Confidence and understanding of the new MYP Enhancements and increased understanding of concept-based inquiry.

Biography:

Kathryn Templeman is a middle school teacher and coordinator with experience in Language Arts, Social Studies and Performing Arts. Originally a musician and music teacher, Kathryn still teaches music and performs professionally as a violinist. Kathryn is passionate about concept-based teaching and learning and is a certified Concept-based Curriculum Instructor. She lives in Aarhus, Denmark where she is the Middle School Principal and Director of Teaching and Learning.

For the IB, Kathryn is an Evaluation and Programme Leader, Consultant, Workshop Leader and MYP Personal Project and ID examiner.
