KATE JONES
Feedback Techniques to Support All Learners
Senior Associate for Teaching and Learning at Evidence Based Education, UK
Kate will share a wide range of evidence-informed, workload friendly and effective feedback techniques that actually support pupil progress!
Strategies, techniques and ideas come and go in education but feedback has, and will continue to be, a consistent aspect of effective teaching, learning and assessment.
Feedback should be helpful and actionable but the reality is this does not always happen in the classroom.
Students receive feedback on a daily basis, from their teachers and peers, but how do teachers ensure this feedback helps learning and not hinders it?
This session aims to answer this key question and provide a wide range of practical examples for the classroom to move learners forward.
There will be an exploration of verbal and written feedback approaches, with advice and guidance focusing on peer and self assessment and tips about harnessing technology to support teacher workload whilst providing helpful feedback to learners.
This session will be a series of techniques that can be used with learners of all ages and across different subjects.
Session Outcomes:
Teachers will be equipped with a wide range of feedback techniques and resources that they can trial and implement in their classroom.
Teachers will also understand how feedback can be effective for students whilst not adding to teacher workload.
