Workshop Information:

In this interactive T&L session we will explore multiple screen-free teaching strategies that require minimal preparation. 

This workshop aims to provide teachers with a variety of tangible, ready-to-go strategies and resources. Teachers are very short on time, so these teaching strategies all require minimal preparation and can be implemented in lessons the next day. 

Alongside EdTech and AI, students need to be exposed to a learning experience that encourages them to think, to collaborate, to ask their own questions and to write for themselves. 

Whilst there has been a growing place for technology in education, the detrimental effects of using a screen are no secret, so we should never neglect the strategies that give students the vital opportunity to learn without a screen. 

This workshop focuses on screen-free strategies that contribute to developing the Learning to Learn skills that our students need.

Session Outcomes

Participants will leave the workshop with a refreshed and reenergised attitude towards screen-free teaching strategies, along with the practical tools to implement the strategies in their own classrooms immediately. 

Participants will be provided with a booklet of generic resources that can be photocopied and used in classrooms for any subject.

Biography:

During my maternity leave in 2024, I developed my gradeaclassroom Instragram account; a platform I use to share teaching strategies. 

Since returning from maternity leave in January 2025, I have been working part-time in the Primary school, working with Y6,Y5, Y2 and Learning Support.
