Elevating Every Voice: Building Inclusive Learning Communities

This session will explore how schools can elevate all voices and perspectives to positively impact learning communities.
In this 1-hour interactive session, teachers and leaders will explore how schools can intentionally elevate all voices—students, staff, and families—to foster more inclusive and effective learning environments.
Through reflection, collaborative dialogue, and practical strategy sharing, participants will examine whose voices are currently shaping their school culture and identify ways to amplify those that are often unheard or marginalized.
With a focus on multilingual voices and digging into what being internationally minded looks like in an IB environment, participants will leave the session with inspiration, ideas and some actionable steps to promote equity and shared leadership within their community.
Session Outcomes:
1. Inclusive leadership begins with awareness.
Elevating all voices requires first understanding who is being heard—and who isn't. Mapping current dynamics helps uncover gaps and opportunities to create a more equitable school culture.
2. Small, intentional actions can shift school culture.
Recognizing that ‘small moments’ matter and knowing little steps effect big long lasting change in communities.
Biography:
Jenny is an experienced school leader with 25 years in international education, dedicated to cultivating collaborative learning environments where every member of the community can thrive. She has taught and led in a variety of international school contexts, including her former role as Head of Primary at ISM. Driven by a purpose to envision, innovate, and inspire in ways that uplift others, honour diversity, and foster advocacy, Jenny aspires to spark both joy and meaningful connection in all she does.
In her current role as Principal of the Early Years and Primary School at ICS Milan, she is leading the school community on its journey to becoming an authorised IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) school. Passionate about nurturing intercultural understanding and valuing language diversity, Jenny is deeply committed to building inclusive, empathetic, and engaged learning communities. She also contributes to the wider education community as a mentor, consultant, and workshop leader, supporting schools and educators in fostering active, globally minded learning communities.
