AUREL TAMAS MARACSKO
Structured Play as a Pathway to Critical and Creative Problem Solving
Founder - Meliora Solutions (COBIS Supporting Associate) British School of Bucharest / Head of Entrepreneurship Hub
This practical session presents a classroom-ready method for promoting ideation, inclusion and structured problem solving. Participants will engage in a gamified activity where they are given a randomised real-world issue, such as food waste, digital addiction or inequality and work in small teams to develop a creative solution using a set of structured prompts. These prompts guide them in defining the nature of the solution, the type of product or service, delivery method, funding model and other key aspects of implementation. The game format is designed to sustain engagement and encourage active collaboration, making it suitable for a wide range of learners and classroom settings.
Although the activity originates from entrepreneurship education, its primary goal is to foster critical thinking, collaboration and practical creativity. It is designed to enhance both soft and hard skills and is easily adaptable across subjects and age groups in secondary school. The session will also guide classroom implementation and integration into existing schemes of work.
Participants will leave with a fully structured, gamified activity they can immediately adapt to their classroom to support inclusion, ideation and collaborative learning.
Participants will gain practical strategies for integrating entrepreneurship-inspired problem solving into any subject area, while developing students' communication, planning and creative thinking skills.
