PATRICIA HUBERT
Cultivating Deep Listening to Empower Voices in Schools
Educational Leadership Coach, France
In the busy rhythm of school life, it’s easy to slip into hearing without really listening.
This session invites us to slow down and reflect on how deep listening can transform the way we connect with students, colleagues, and families especially in international school communities, where voice and belonging matter deeply.
Together, we will unpack what deep listening is, why it matters in schools, and how it can empower both students and staff.
We’ll explore some of the common barriers that get in the way like distractions, assumptions, or the urge to fix and consider simple, practical strategies to help us become more present and intentional in everyday conversations.
The session includes time to reflect, time to practise, and space to listen and be listened to. You don’t need any prior coaching experience, just an openness to pause, tune in, and notice what becomes possible when we offer others our full attention.
Session Outcomes:
Understand the impact of deep listening on trust, relationships, and voice in diverse school communities.
Build confidence in using key listening strategies that support trust, connection, and deeper thinking in conversations across the school community.
Identify specific ways to apply deep listening into your everyday role to uplift student, colleague, and family voices.
