If you have many offers that you would like to upload all at once, it is preferable to upload them in a Comma Separated Values file. You can create this on any spreadsheet editing software, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Do not forget that ALL the fields must be in the header of the CSV file (if it is marked as mandatory: you must put a value, if not, you can leave it free).
Before you import your data into EP, usually it's good to have a look at your CSV file in your spreadsheet program (e.g. Excel). To do this usually you have to go to your spreadsheet program and choose to import the CSV file and specify comma (,) delimitors. More information for Excel is here.
The file encoding must be ASCII or Unicode (UTF-8). This is especially important if you have any special characters. If you import a CSV with a different encoding, any special characters may be imported incorrectly.
This is the comma (,) NOT semi-colon (;). Files uploaded with semi-colon separators will not be uploaded correctly.
This is the new field in the CSV Upload File. First column should be NC ID which is available on NC profile and easy accessible to any registered user (Menu: Administration -> National Committee)
Date format is always YYYY-MM-DD for example 2017-03-31.
*in IW4 the date format was DD-MMM-YYYY. Changing the data format is very easy in Excel, more information here.
Field of Study (also called Faculty) MUST be 2-digit CIPCodes separated by the pipe ("|") character. Specializations are 6-digit CIPCodes in the format xx.xxxx separated by semi-colons (";") within the same faculty and by pipes ("|") across different faculties. It is also possible to add an OTHER Field of Study for free text Specialization. Take a look at the CSV Upload Guidelines below.
You must use maximum of 3 Fields of Study and for practical reasons there should not be more than 5 Specializations. Otherwise the uploaded offer might look very messy.
Please refer to the sample CSV files and the summary of the fields below. The RequiredSkills field is the last column in the CSV file and while creating the CSV, please follow the instructions below:
- Skills should be separated by semi colon (";") and be within double quotes. Also, they should be one of the pre defined skills from the global skill list
- If you can't find your preferred skill in the pre defined list, please open a support ticket so we can update the list here. For urgent cases, you may select "Not Applicable" from the list and proceed with publishing the offer.
- Make sure there are no spaces between ";" eg: CORRECT: "Java;Teamwork" INCORRECT: "Java; Teamwork" (see the extra space in between the two skills)
You must follow the guidelines indicated in the CSV guidelines table below. There is also a test CSV file that shows how to upload an example offer; you should modify this file with your own NC ID and offer number before uploading.
Below is a table indicating the header names, what they mean, and whether or not they are mandatory. Refer to the CSV guidelines file to see examples of each field and full data sets for each field that requires set values (such as the Fields of Study).
