We began the module orally retelling and acting out the story of the Three Little Pigs. We even enjoyed listening to 'twisted' versions of the story. This inspired to make our own 'twisted' versions of the classic story. We made sure we used the classic fairy tale features bit put our own spin on the characters, buildings materials and endings.
We recieved a letter from the infamous pigs, asking for our help to design them new houses. Once we had finished researching and testing materials for ourselves, we wrote letters back to the pigs with ideas and plans they could use.
Pupils should be taught to write sentences by: saying out loud what they are going to write about composing a sentence orally before writing it sequencing sentences to form short narratives re-reading what they have written to check that it makes sense discuss what they have written with the teacher or other pupils read aloud their writing clearly enough to be heard by their peers and the teacher
This module, we studied the short film, 'The Clocktower'. We used the film to inspire us to think of adjectives and expnaded nouns phrases that could be used to describe a charcter and opposing settings.
