Our first History lesson let us explore things from the past. We discussed what a historian's job is and how we know artefacts and other things such as vehicles are from the past. We explored the classroom and found objects that we were unsure of and answered questions about them such as; what is it? what material could it be made from? what was it used for?

As we develop of our knowledge The Victorian Era further, we looked at how children during the Victorian times lived. We explored different jobs they may have needed to do if they could not go to school and discussed if getting a job at such as young age was a good thing or not. We wrote small speeches to explain whether having a job was good or not and gave our reasons why. They were pretty convincing!

To help us develop our knowledge of the Victorians, on Tuesday 3rd October 2023 we had a Victorian day where we were able to dress up and take part in lots of different activities. A lady called Natalie came to visit us from Maidstone Museum and taught us lots of things about how the Victorian's lived and what children did at work or at school. As well as learning lots of amazing pieces of information, we got to make our own peg dolls.
We also looked at Florence Nightingale and how she made a positive impact during the Victorian Era.
