Place Value up to 1000
Children began year 3 with their knowledge of place value. We used a variety of methods to represent numbers up to 100 including, number lines, base 10 blocks and bead strings.
They used this knowledge to deepen their understanding in mastery style questioning.
Children represented tens and ones using the base 10 and cubes. They identified different ways of showing the same numbers.
Week 3 maths is now embedding some of their prior learning around place value. This week we have looked at ordering and comparing numbers to 1000!

We begin this module by telling the time in different intervals. Children used an analogue clock to show different times and learned key vocabulary.
