Taper Turning

Taper Turning is a centre lathe cutting process which is performed to create a taper on the workpiece.

The angle of the taper should be set on the top slide which has degrees marked on it for this purpose. Fine cuts should be taken to avoid bending the workpiece; if a large cut is attempted, the tool might catch and damage the work.
