Introduction to Food is designed to help students learn basic kitchen concepts. Equipment, safety, and sanitation will all be included through guided instruction in a class that has both professional and personal applications. Students will also participate in hands-on food labs and cooperative learning opportunities that focus on food preparation techniques for fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, and protein. By the end of the course, students will have the necessary skills to begin planning, purchasing, and preparing nourishing meals while also exploring career possibilities in the food service industry.
