In this course, students will learn and apply math skills needed to enter many technical occupations, such as automotive, graphic design, health science, culinary arts and construction. Students will investigate these math topics through targeted problem-solving opportunities, applying their knowledge to solve a variety of real-world problems. This course will involve a variety of instruction methods, including guest speakers from the field and the potential for embedded job shadowing. Students will showcase their learning through a culminating project that they will present to their classmates and a panel of professionals. Students enrolling in this course should be intending to pursue a career in a trade or have interest in learning more about the trades as potential professional pathways. Note: This course may not count as a math credit for college admission.
