Twelve teams presented their pitches today. Our panel of adjudicators included:
Mr. Art Lee, former general legal counsel for Magna International
Cathy and Larry Boggio, owners of the Boggio chain of pharmacies
Ms. Kelly Pisek, DSBN Superintendent
David DiPietro and Dan Lonergan from Brock University
This was a huge learning experience! The panel asked really good questions that will help us refine our final presentation in preparation for our investor presentation. We have decided to put together a team of 4 presenters for this next presentation.
It was impressive to see grade 7 and 8 students stand up and speak so confidently.

Our class been assigned our first Kick-off Mission on Knowledgehook. This is an online math learning tool (similar to Dreambox but more appropriate for intermediate students) that will help us understand our thinking in math and identify gaps where we need more support.
You can access parent information about Knowledgehook here
Incroyable!

We are preparing for the pitch presentation competition on Thursday this week. Guest adjudicators will include local business owners Cathy and Larry Boggio of Boggio Pharmacy, Arthur Lee, former legal counsel for Magna International) and David DiPietro and Dan Lonergan from the Goodman School of Business at Brock University. This is our version of "Dragon's Den" where we will decide which team will present our pitch to potential investors in January.
An image of the criteria for the presentation is opposite. Every student has their own paper copy for reference.
