Tyler, the Creator mesmerizes Moda

Grammy winning rap artist Tyler, The Creator came with Paris Texas and Little Yachty to the Moda Center for the 10th stop of the “Chromakopia” tour on February 26th.

    The first opener was Paris Texas. The Los Angeles duo of Louie Pastel and Felix got their start in 2018 exuded extreme style and proved themselves in their craft. They played songs like “Everybody’s Safe Until…,” “FORCE OF HABIT” and “NüWhip.”

The second opener, Lil Yachty, entered the limelight nearly a decade ago and has remained there since. Yachty played tracks like the hit “Poland,” “Hate Me” and “Love Me Forever”.

The main act, Tyler, The Creator got on stage two hours after the encores started so the anticipation was strong. There were two stages for the main act, the main stage was made out of the green “Chromakopia” shipping containers, and a small stage that resembled a room with a record player and couch. Tyler began with playing almost the entire first half of the album on the main stage, but suddenly a bridge lowered between the two stages. While crossing, Tyler played more songs off of the album while throwing genuine money into the crowd below him. All of his songs were paired with impressive and beautiful lights and occasional pyrotechnics.

Once he reached the center stage, he went over to a box of records and began to look for one to put on. The album he chose to put on first was his grammy winning album IGOR, which caused the audience to explode into cheers of joy. Tyler played the first few songs off the album, which was then followed by the incredibly popular “I THINK.” Tyler took the record back to the box and did a quick look through before pulling out his debut album “GOBLIN.” Though quite different from his current style, songs like “Yonkers” and “Tron Cat” are undeniably good. He told small anecdotes to the crowd, played songs off of “Wolf”, “Call Me If You Get Lost”, “Cherry Bomb” and “Flower Boy” before he began to play himself back towards the main stage.

Once on the stage, Tyler played the rest of “Chromakopia,” spliced with his most popular tracks, “See You Again” and “NEW MAGIC WAND” before he closed the show with the song “I Hope You Find Your Way Home.” With a show full of lights, bass, pyrotechnics and phenomenal songs, it can be definitively said that Tyler, The Creator truly delivered a performance of a lifetime.
