Black Science Volume 9: No Authority But Yourself by Rick Remender Review

Wow, Rick Remender. Well done. I was starting to wonder how this could end - IF this could end. Good stories deserve an ending (unlike TV series that drag on as long as ratings as good). This story shows he had a plan for the story from the beginning.And let's just consider how difficult it must be to write a story with infinite timelines and keep it engaging while knowing things happened differently in a nearby timeline that is accessible to the characters. You could undo anything, replace lost characters, reset things - so even with the huge potential for every action to become meaningless in such a setting, Remender writes a tight, engaging, story where individual settings and characters matter. This is an incredibly good series. Bravo!

What a trip the past 6 years have been. This was hands down my favorite comic series. I want to thank Rick, Matteo, and Moreno for all their love on this project.This book still has the gripping action and emotional pulls that make it a top notch read. It wraps up the story on a note that plays to the eververse nature of the story world. The comic left a couple points up in the air that would have only needed an extra panel to explain/clarify. This left me to reread the book a second time over to make sure I didn't miss it. That unfortunately left me sour on my first reading, but after the second read through, I accepted how the book ended: more as a "period" than an "exclamation point".If you liked the Godworld pacing and feel, then this will meet your needs nicely.

I cant believe that I had to read 8 graphic novels before I caught the satanist symbolIn the 1st part of this last chapter. There on Grants neck the inverted cross.Now I understand all those remarks and inuendo references that there is no God..No Creator...and whatever logic or reasoningAn athiest can posit...No problem with me...I have read many books from agnostics. But I do have a problem with promoting A God...one who is the enemy of Faith. Either you believe or you dont...how can you promote a belief system when you say or write that there is no God. This may be the reason why you were or are in such a deep depresión.You yourself do not know what to believe in.

Rick Remender, Matteo Scalera, and Dean White knock it out of the park with the whole series. This review is not just for this volume 9, but for the whole thing, as it’s one self contained finite story.From book one the series fires on all cylinders. The science is crazy, and the story twists and changes like a bunch of quantum events. At some point it did slow down a bit, and maybe even dragged, about book 6 or 7, but it picked back up and had a fantastic ending. This is great science fiction, even better story telling. Get the whole series. Don’t miss out.
