CULVER COMMUNITY BAND MEMBERS RECOGNIZED
November 29, 2021Culver Community Band Members were recently selected to participate in All Region Honor Band, All District Honor Band and IMEA Honor Band.
Ryanne Buschman, Hayden Lute, Emily Hawkins who all play the flute and Graham Baker, who plays percussion, were all selected to participate in the IBA Region Honor Band. Each student was required to fill out an application and complete an evaluation with Mr. Crittendon (Culver Community Band Director). Their submissions were then sent to the selection committee along with all other applicants in the region. They were selected to play with the band and held a concert on November November 13th. The All Region Honor Band is open to band students grades 7-9.
Nemo Haschel, who plays percussion, was selected to participate in the all district honor band. He also had to apply and be evaluated to be selected. The All District Honor Band is open to students in grades 9-12.
Nemo Haschel was also selected to be a part of the IMEA Honor Band. This is a highly competitive process open to any band student in Indiana. Each school is able to nominate a total of 4 students for this honor. Nemo was selected along with only 119 other Indiana students and will perform at the IMEA convention in January.
