CCSC Receives Safety Grant for 6th Consecutive Year

September 27, 2023- Culver Community Schools was recently awarded the Secured Safety Grant from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. This is the sixth consecutive year CCSC has been awarded this grant. Culver Community Schools places a high importance on student and staff safety and this grant money will assist in continuing our efforts to create a safe learning environment. Culver Community Schools applied to assist with salaries and appropriate trainings for two School Resource Officers. Culver Community Schools was awarded $100,000 during this cycle. 

The Secured School Safety Grant is a competitive matching grant for Indiana Schools to increase their safety measures for students and staff. Indiana Department of Homeland Security has awarded over $163 million since 2014. Funds have been dispersed to over 3,600 applicants. Projects in the past that have been possible through this grant have included the new Elementary School entrance, a district wide fencing project, updated security cameras, new exterior doors and a new PA system.
