Culver Community High School Teacher Receives $500 Grant

CULVER COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER RECEIVES $500 GRANT

Culver Community High School Teacher, Cassie Hart was recently awarded a $500 grant thanks to the Cheryl Lyn Welter Foundation. Cassie plans to use these grant funds with her students in her basic skills class. These students will go out into the community and practice consumer skills at the local grocery stores as well as learn independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning and other transferable skills to build confidence in themselves and take with them after graduation.

This grant was made possible by the Cheryl Lyn Welter Family Charitable Foundation. This foundation honors the life of Cheryl Welter who passed away her senior year of high school in 2001. Cheryl was an avid people person who loved helping others. The foundation was put in place to help students in grades K-12 have opportunities to achieve goals they may not otherwise have the resources to achieve.
