‼️ Stay up to date with the September 2025 Chapters Brief!
Icebreakers can range from fun to cringe, but even the best of them are often an afterthought. In this workshop, we’ll break down how to create connection at the start of a meeting, during an offsite, or in the middle of a work gathering, so that every activity has purpose, momentum, and impact. By focusing on icebreakers, games, and other participatory activities, we’ll give you tools to spark engagement and strengthen culture whether remote, hybrid, or in-person. You’ll walk away ready to design gatherings where everyone has a part to play!
After this truly interactive workshop you’ll be ready to…
Choose and facilitate icebreakers and games that build connection in any setting—Zoom, conference room, or offsite retreat
Design moments of play that feel inclusive, engaging, and aligned with your meeting’s purpose
Use our free template to create your own gatherings with built-in connection points
Ask the right questions to ensure every activity has impact, not just entertainment
While we facilitate this session, we’ll bring you behind the curtain—sharing the “why” behind each exercise and leaving you with inspiration to bring back to your teams and clients. With breakout discussions and space to learn from your peers here at Culture First, you’ll leave with practical tools and new ideas. Plus, yes, there will be games!
Artly Working's approach is based on our facilitation expertise combined with training and experience in theatre and improvisation – where the art and science of people coming together to work and create is our prime directive. David Klasko is an actor and improviser based in New York City, and the founder of Artly Working. He received an MFA in Acting from Columbia University and trained in improv comedy for several years at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. While performing across the country, from New York's Shakespeare in the Park to the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, David fostered a passion for teaching and facilitating. He's taught improv comedy to serious actors, and serious acting to improv comedians; Shakespeare in New York City schools, and stand-up comedy to executives. In 2019, he founded Artly Working to bring all these experiences together with a mission to use acting and improvisation training to help people be better at what they do.
Andrew Davies is an improviser and facilitator based in Philadelphia, PA and a client favorite at Artly Working. Andrew received a B.A. in English Literature from Brandeis University, went on to study Improvisation at The Magnet Theater, and received a certificate of Facilitation from Georgetown University. Andrew is also the co-founder of two non-profits: The Bible Players – a comedy team that has toured over 25 states, visiting hundreds of camps, schools, and synagogues teaching Jewish Values with a sense of humor, and CharacTours – interactive theatrical walking experience where the past visits you.
