📐Chapter Metrics: Measuring What Matters
You’ve asked how we measure the success of our program, and here’s the scoop: Engagement matters most.
Measurement 1 - The goal is to have over 50% of the chapters hosting their minimum of 4 events per year.
Measurement 2 - The goal is to see an increase in the number of attendees that return to a second or third chapter event. **this is why it's so important you check yourself and your attendees in to you events on Bevy.
Measurement 3 - The goal is to host 365 events in 2024. As of now, we’ve hosted 216 events!

During a recent chapter leads check-in, we shared practical strategies for building strong, engaged communities. Whether it’s focusing on meaningful engagement, experimenting with event formats, or taking it slow as your chapter grows, we covered it all. Watch the full 15-minute recording below and learn how consistent, quality-driven events can make all the difference. Don’t forget: 'People come for the utility and stay for the unity'—keep those personal connections strong!"

😮💨 It's Okay to Take a Breather!
Last week, I had the priviledge of seeing a handful of our fellow chapter leads IRL. A common theme came up... Being a chapter lead comes with natural ebbs and flows. Sometimes life gets busy, and we don’t have as much energy to dedicate to the community. And that’s totally okay! Massive props to the chapter leads that were honest about their bandwidth as of late. I know that can be hard for us to admit to ourselves and aloud. We want to be able to do it all!
We talked about how simple gatherings, like a virtual or in-person coffee chat, or even a mastermind session, can still provide immense value. Don’t overcomplicate it—keep it easy on yourself and the community will still benefit from your leadership. It’s about consistency, not perfection.

🕵️ Scavenger Hunt: A Fun and Engaging Activity
Looking for an icebreaker? Try a 'Scavenger Hunt' where attendees grab an object nearby (next to their computer or even out of their bag) and explain how it relates to the Culture First community or your event topic. It’s a hit, whether virtual or in person, and can be tailored to any event!.
Bevy Virtual: A Different Approach to Gathering Virtually
If you’re hosting virtual events, I encourage you to try Bevy Virtual rather than Zoom or Google Meet. It’s come a long way since the early days and is now user-friendly and optimized for chapter events.
We've recorded a video you can check out explaining the various features.
🗣️ Bevy Discussions: Get the Conversation Rolling
Bevy just launched a new 'Discussions' feature on event pages! You can now add prompts before or after your events to keep the community engaged. It’s early days, but give it a try, and let's see where it goes."

🤝 Promote Other Chapter Events: We're Stronger Together
I want to give a special shoutout to Christy Tonge, SF chapter lead, who’s always fantastic at promoting other chapter events during their gatherings. It’s a great habit for all of us to adopt! Just because someone is part of one chapter doesn’t mean they shouldn’t join other events—especially topic-based ones like our new Global Trauma (Sarah Giencke + Natalia Bayurova), Mental Health and Neurodiversity at Work (Stephanie Loredo), and soon-to-launch Psychedelics at Work and Founders chapters. Make sure to check the calendar, and encourage your members to explore what’s happening across the entire chapters community!
