Description:
Urban Farming is a branch of “Drop in the Ocean”, CIS's student environmental group that recognizes the importance of greenery in the learning environment. By offering hands-on gardening activities in the CIS Community Garden, Urban Farming aims to inspire a sustainable, healthy lifestyle in order to reduce the school’s carbon footprint.
Expectations:
Time: Tuesday after school every week (3:10 - 4:10 PM)
At the beginning of the year, Urban Farming was fortunate enough to receive the guidance and support of e-farmhk who helped nurture their gardening and horticulture skills. After months of laborious work, they were finally able to achieve the title of a qualified "Urban Farmer"!
The garden was dormant for over a year due to COVID and CIS' renovation, so UF had to begin by rebuilding the garden's design and faciliities
At the start of the year, students started by preparing the beds in the garden for planting crops.
During service sessions, students have various tasks to complete in the garden such as watering and weeding.
After over half a year, some of the crops in the garden were ready for harvesting.

Gardening
I love gardening, it is my passion!
I love plants!
I hate weeds!
Plucking weeds, it is my passion!
